Abstract

The growing adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Human Resource Management (HRM) is transforming HR practices in private sector organisations. In response to this evolution, this study conducts a bibliometric analysis to assess how far research on AI in HRM has developed and to provide a structured vision about the thematic for future HR researchers. The objective is to utilize this study as a benchmark approach for developing educational technics evaluate the implementation of AI in HRM, by mapping the current state of knowledge and to derive insights that can inform the future development of HR personnel and practices. A systematic literature review was carried out using the Web of Science database. After applying filters related to publication period (2020-2025), document type, subject areas, and open-access availability, a final sample of 230 articles and review articles was retained. Science-mapping techniques were used to analyse publication trends, authorship, sources, citations, countries, institutions, and keyword co-occurrence. The findings show a rapidly expanding and multidisciplinary field, with a strong focus on recruitment, employment processes, and performance management supported by AI. In contrast, topics related to governance, algorithmic bias, and legitimacy remain less central but are gaining increasing attention. By visualizing these patterns, the study provides a clear overview of the development and orientation of the field.
